Timeline
In the first phase (2018-2021) of ANDEX, efforts are devoted to identify, develop and strengthen a network of scientist and institutions conducting research in hydroclimate and related sciences along the impressive Andes cordillera. A crucial element is the elaboration of a White Book, which summarizes the current understanding of Andean climate and hydrology, reveals knowledge and observational gaps as well as identifies opportunities to foster collaboration. The finished White Book will be the basis for an implementation plan that may include long-term monitoring, field campaigns and modelling efforts to be conducted during ANDEX second phase (2022-2025). Below is a list of past and future ANDEX milestones:
- 5-7 December 2017: ANDEX foundational meeting, Medellín, Colombia. Co-sponsored by GEWEX and Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
