Visiting Fellowship Position(s) in Solar and Terrestrial Radiation Observation and Analyses
(Posted 20 July 2009)

One or two, two-year postdoctoral positions are available for the exploitation of radiation and associated atmospheric data from the Canadian BSRN and research solar radiation networks. These positions will provide researchers with the opportunity to enhance their expertise in data analyses, assessment and/or validation of numerical models and development of new observing techniques.

While the successful candidate(s) would be encouraged to develop a holistic approach to understanding the surface radiation budget from observations through enhanced modeling, individuals with expertise in either the development of improved instrumentation or analyses and model development would be considered favourably. The Canadian BSRN network consists of three stations, two in the Canadian Arctic and one in Southern Saskatchewan. Several other research quality sites are closely linked with the solar energy resource community.

Individuals interested in obtaining further information on these fellowship positions are encouraged to contact: Dr. Bruce McArthur, Science and Technology Branch, Environment Canada, 4905 Dufferin Street, Toronto, ON, M3H 5T4 Canada or through email at: bruce.mcarthur@ec.gc.ca.
